I am a Wildlife and Nature photographer from Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
I first became interested in photography several years ago when I started taking daily walks alone in nature. I found the peace and beauty to be so healing and restorative. I began to notice details in my natural surroundings that I had never noticed before, such as the myriad of interesting shapes and kaleidoscope of colors, both vibrant and muted, that come together to make up this beautiful earth. It is my need for artistic expression and the desire to share these wonders that inspired me to take a camera along on these daily jaunts.
I strive to capture the embodiment of delicacy and awe in every living species I photograph. For me that is the graceful wings of a bird, the vulnerable freshness of a newborn chick, or the diverse shapes of a flower in different stages of bloom. When possible I prefer to photograph animals from ground level. This creates a sense of intimacy with the subject and I enjoy the softness of a shallow depth of field. My adventurous spirit is my guide and has led me and my camera to many beautiful destinations, but I am so fortunate to have the stunning landscape of Cape Cod to call home.
